PREMISE
A realistic silver metal watch made with only the gradient mesh tool.
PROBLEM
A problem I came across when making this project was trying to make the silver parts of the watch shiny but not too shiny to make it unrealistic. Another issue was trying to get the shading right in between each crease of the wrist of the watch.
SOLUTIONS
To help make my image look photorealistic I looked up similar watches to help see how metal shins and how linear the shading in these parts should be. To help make it photorealistic I added a background of silk sheets. this was rough at first but once i got the idea of where the light is coming from the image then I was able to position how and where the watch will sit on the sheets.
RESULTS
Overall I'm very satisfied with the end result as it is my first gradient mesh project but there is still room for improvement especially when it comes to having smooth shading.
